Summit County Museums for All program adds 3 additional attractions


AKRON, Ohio — Summit County’s Museums for All, a program that provides community members with U.S. government-issued Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards, discounted admissions to museums and attractions in area, now includes three other attractions: Hower House, Hale Farm & Village, and Cummings Center for the History of Psychology.

These additions bring the total number of attractions on the program to eight; the Akron Art Museum, Akron Children’s Museum, Akron Zoo, Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens, and Summit County Historical Society joined the program in 2018.

The Summit County program is part of a nationwide initiative launched by the Institute of Museum and Library Services in partnership with the Association of Children’s Museums in 2014. The effort aims to increase museum visitation among people in financial need. .

More than 7,000 county residents have used the program since its launch.

Admission fees range from $1 to $3, and community members must present their government-issued EBT card for discounted admission.

Here is a complete overview of participating museums and attractions:

Akron Art Museum

  • Admission: $3, which includes up to four adults per EBT card
  • Children 17 and under are always free.
  • Everyone is free on Thursday.

Akron Children’s Museum

  • Admission: $1, which includes up to four guests per EBT card
  • Infants 12 months and under are free.

Akron Zoo

  • Admission: $3, which includes admission for up to four guests per EBT card
  • Not valid during special events

Cummings Center for the History of Psychology

  • Admission: $3 for any number of group guests upon presentation of an EBT card

Hale Farm and Village

  • Admission: $2, which includes admission for up to four people
  • Children 2 and under are free.
  • Not valid during special events

Hower House

  • Admission: $2, which includes admission for up to five people
  • Children 12 and under are free.

Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens

  • Admission: $3, which includes admission for up to four people
  • Children two and under are always free.
  • Not valid during special events

Summit County Historical Society

  • Admission: $1 for any number of group guests upon presentation of an EBT card
  • Children 6 and under are free.
  • Fridays at the farm are always free.
  • Not valid during special events
