Connexus Credit Union gives back to two Merrill-based organizations

Connexus Credit Union’s philanthropic program, Connexus Cares, announced recent donations to two Merrill-based organizations: MAC Home and St. Vincent de Paul of Merrill.

Connexus Cares donated $7,750 to MAC Home. “The MAC Home provides safe housing and meets the basic needs of families and people experiencing homelessness. They operate a warming center, as well as temporary transitional housing. Additionally, they provide resources for people experiencing homelessness, such as information about community organizations, job search assistance, and building self-esteem and other areas of mental well-being,” said a Connexus press release. The $7,750 donation from Connexus Cares is earmarked for the area most in need and will be used for general operating costs.

Connexus Cares also donated $5,000 to St. Vincent de Paul of Merrill. “St. Vincent de Paul de Merrill supports members of the community through its outreach office, as well as a free clinic for those without access to affordable health coverage,” their press release reads.
The $5,000 donation from Connexus Cares is intended to support outreach services that help community members with emergency needs such as WPS disconnects, rental evictions, medical bills, vehicle repairs, diapers, food, gas and other related emergencies.

“The Merrill community is very close to me and many other Connexus employees, so being able to extend our financial contribution to other wonderful Merrill-area organizations is a great privilege,” said Boyd Gustke, President and CEO of Connexus. . “The MAC Home and St. Vincent de Paul are essential non-profit organizations helping so many people in the Merrill area, offering support and resources in times of worry and stress that many cannot imagine. Each individual helped by these organizations brings us one step closer to a brighter, brighter future for all of us – and I’m grateful that Connexus can support them along the way.
