New Funding Opportunity: Community Organizations Invited to Apply for DEEL’s Summer Learning Investment Application

Apply before April 27and for grants up to $75,000

SEATTLE (April 12) – The Seattle Department of Education and Early Learning (DEEL) is currently inviting applications from community organizations and city agencies for the Seattle Early Learning Improvement Investment Application. summer (RFI) of DEEL. Funded by Families, Education, Early Learning, and Promise Levy, this funding opportunity aims to expand or enhance existing community summer programs for Seattle K-12 students.

Since the spring of 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has limited the important resources available to families, schools, and community organizations to help meet the social, emotional, mental health, and academic needs of students. For youth furthest from educational justice, distance learning and limited or inconsistent access to programs and services have compounded existing inequalities. DEEL is committed to advancing equity in education by increasing access to summer programs for young people most affected by the pandemic.

DEEL’s Summer Learning Enhancement RFI will invest up to $1 million in one-time funding for community-based organizations providing programs for youth in the areas of academic opportunities, learning, and education. socio-emotional enrichment, and college and career readiness from June to August 2022. DEEL intends to fund a maximum of 25 proposals with prizes ranging from $10,000 to $75,000 per winner. Funding will be awarded through a competitive tender for an investment process managed by DEEL.

To be considered for funding, eligible applicants must submit an application before 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday April 27, 2022. DEEL will notify successful applicants by Friday, May 20, 2022. To learn more and apply, please visit www.tinyurl.com/DEELsummer2022.
